What we do

Since 1997 we have been working to contribute to the access of children and young people in Colombia to quality public education through the following programs:

We develop projects to reduce the educational infrastructure deficit Colombia has, by increasing coverage and access to education with proper spaces for learning.

Guajira

We expanded to La Guajira through adequating and building 27 educational spaces in Uribia, Manaure Maicao and Riohacha, as well as implementing several projects such as Todos al Cole (All in School, in English) and Transitando la Escuela (Moving Through School, in English).

Tibú

We expanded to Norte de Santander by building a school in Tibú, a Child Development Center, and implementing the “Transitando la Escuela” (Moving Through School, in English) project to 10 public schools.

Throughout the Foundation’s history, it is one of the cities in which we have provided support for both infrastructure projects and pedagogical practices. To date, we are developing some of our projects as well as building the new headquarters of the:

  • Ciudad Bicentenario school

(Creating Together, in English) We develop co-creation spaces with teachers to boost their role and place students in the centre of the learning process, by using the Project-Based Learning strategy -PBA.

Río, Juego y Aprendo

(I Laugh, I Play, I Learn, in English) This project designs and implements Learning through Play (LtP) processes, to improve and strengthen integral development of children from 0 to 8 years old in Caqueta, alongside Aeiotú Foundation, and the Education Faculty of the Los Andes University.

This project seeks to impact 54,000 children and their families over a period of three years. It does so by:

Increasing Access

We are developing active search to seek for out-of-school children and supporting them into the enrollment processes to formal education.

Promoting Permanence

We are strengthening good practices to:
Children: to prevent school dropouts through pedagogical support.
Teachers: for they to develop and strengthen their teaching practices (pedagogical and socioemotional tools).

Building Proper Learning Spaces

we are building 127 new educational spaces for children.
