We Support feeding in La Guajira

Caring the children’s nutrition is one of the objectives that have always been present in our Intervention Model. Therefore, with the help of Oma and Nu3 Foundation, we support nutritional recovery for vulnerable populations in La Guajira department.

For Colombians, the social and economic reality of La Guajira is well known. The deaths of children associated with malnutrition are for our country a problematic issue; and also for us as a Foundation.

How will the project work?
This project will benefit 300 children between 0 and 5 years old, who are with inadequate nutrition conditions; or at risk of being. Within the process, pregnant and lactating mothers from Uribia, La Guajira, who are in low weight conditions, will also be benefited.

The intervention will work with the mothers and / or caregivers in the preparation of the multivitamin complement called VITAMEAL. However, to have an optimal accompaniment of the process, 3 nutritional evaluations will be carried out during the year. Workshops on prevention and promotion of health, and nutrition education will be developed.

This is how we want to respond to the need to promote actions in order to guarantee a healthy and protected childhood. Contribute to reduce the malnutrition rates and low breastfeeding in mothers to support the country development. We know that this project requires a collaborative work. We thank OMA and Nu3 Foundation for joining this cause.

If you want to get more information about the social reality of La Guajira, we invite you to review the document Infant mortality and malnutrition in La Guajira.
