According to Annie de Acevedo, starting a constant physical discipline or exercise from early ages not only helps to activate all brain functions which are indispensable for their general cognitive development, but teaches them a series of skills and knowledge that will be of great help throughout their lives.
In Pies Descalzos we support the physical activities in which our students are involved, because we believe in the power Sport has in education. This was the way the Pies Descalzos feminine football team from Barranquilla took part of the “Supérate” Games of 2017. This was the first time that the teams reached the maximum recognition as district champions in the Pre-juvenile and juvenile categories.
We want to mention the teacher of sports, Nelson Arturo Palomino Hernández, who with dedication, effort and a lot of work has accompanied this process thanks to the quality of his work that took them to reach such position. We also congratulate the students who have achieved this important goal with discipline and commitment. Now the challenge will be to represent the district of Barranquilla, in the departmental championship.
What are the “Supérate” games?
The intercollegiate games “Supérate”, take part of a national public politic project, with an inclusive approach which allows the practice and sportive growth in all of the non-centralized spots of Colombia: Departments, Capital District, and Municipalities.
All this, through the promotion and execution of sport practice, which contributes to the integral education of children, teen and young people between 7 and 18 years of age; framed in the Ten Year Sports Plan, Departmental and Municipal Sports Plans.
